Job summary

OmniSource is seeking a safety-focused Truck Driver to join our team for local routes with home daily and daytime shifts. You will operate diesel trucks, handle scrap metal pickups and deliveries, and maintain accurate records and paperwork.

The role requires a valid CDL Class A or B, adherence to DOT regulations, and strong customer service. Candidates must be 21+ with good English, and be prepared for daily safety checks and reporting. Ohio-based operations emphasize safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations governing safe driving, hours of service, and inspection maintenance.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret English safety rules and procedures.
• Experience or training in safe operating procedures for commercial trucks.

Responsibilities

• Hook and unhook trailers and manage landing gear.
• Inspect truck/trailers and report defects daily.
• Check shipping paperwork to determine load nature.
• Drive per regulations and company policies.
• Operate vehicle in varying conditions including heavy traffic and weather.
• Maintain required shipping documentation and logs.
