AAA Cooper Transportation, Inc. is hiring a local CDL Class A P&D city driver at our Mason City, IA service center. The role covers pickup and delivery with hazmat and other endorsements required, and involves a variety of routes between service centers with on-site onboarding.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• Valid DOT physical required.
• Endorsements: Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples.
• At least 1 year of tractor-trailer experience.
• Driving record with no more than two moving violations in 3 years.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Must complete onboarding: drug screen, background check, MVR, and PSP.
• Successful completion of new-hire training, including assessments and tests.
• Minimum age of 21 years.

Responsibilities

• Operate safely while following state and federal regulations.

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report defects.
• Record ELD, VIR, trip and dispatch data with company IT equipment.
• Ensure cargo securement to prevent damage during transport.

Class A CDL P&D Truck Driver

Pay Range:$28.50-$33.74/hr

Job Summary

Pickup and Delivery (P&D) Drivers operate commercial vehicles with various trailer combinations across intra-state and inter-state routes. This includes travel between company service centers and meet-and-turn points. Drivers may also be responsible for sorting, loading, unloading, and handling freight as needed. The position requires strict adherence to safety, compliance, and performance standards to ensure the efficient and secure transportation of freight.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate commercial vehicles safely while adhering to all state and federal regulations, including traffic laws, hours of service, and hazmat transportation requirements.

• Meet DOT medical standards and maintain a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate.

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of company equipment and report any defects.

• Operate company-provided IT equipment in compliance with policy to record ELD, VIR, trip, and dispatch information.

• Ensure proper cargo securement to prevent damage during transport.

• Load, unload, and secure freight as required.

• Maintain communication with dispatch and adhere to trip scheduling requirements.

• Exhibit professional conduct and represent the company in a positive manner with customers and team members.

• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

Working Environment

This position operates in various environments, including indoor docks, enclosed vehicles, and outdoor areas. Work may occur in extreme temperatures, inclement weather, low-light conditions, and around moving equipment or other personnel engaged in freight handling.

Days: Monday through Sunday (varies by business needs)

Pay Range: 33.74-33.74 per_hour, General Benefits:
