Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, known as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator certification), is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites. Deliveries are within a 200-mile radius of the home branch, originating and ending at the branch, with no overnight stays required.

• Home every night
• Receive a Safety Bonus
• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Verify and confirm loaded inventory against purchase orders, sign delivery tickets, and confirm addresses
• Conduct job site inspections, noting any existing damage or hazards such as power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, or fences
• Capture and document pictures of all delivered building products as per company policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B CDL
• Ability to load/unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each; forklift or Moffett experience is a plus
• Safe driving record with no hit & run incidents, DWI, or DUI convictions in the last three years; severe violations or accidents in the past year will be reviewed
• Previous commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
• Experience in distribution is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials (rarely applicable)
• Pass a drug test and hold a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the past 12 months
• Authorized to work in the U.S. and pass an E-Verify check
