Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Logistics Specialist II, with or without a Crane Operator certification, is to deliver building materials to customers or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum of a 200-mile radius from their home branch, with all deliveries starting and ending at the branch, ensuring no overnight stays.

• Home every night
• Eligible for a Safety Bonus
• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Verify and confirm inventory loaded, compare with purchase orders, and sign delivery tickets; ensure routing information is obtained prior to leaving the branch
• Conduct job site inspections, noting existing damages and obstacles such as power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
• Document all deliveries with photographs in accordance with company policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs., with forklift or Moffett experience a plus
• Safe driving record with no recent hit & run incidents, DWI, or DUI convictions in the last three years; severe violations or multiple accidents in the past year will be reviewed
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are advantageous
• Experience in distribution is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English
• Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials (applicable to specific positions)
• Pass a drug test, hold a current DOT medical certificate, and have no positive drug tests in the past 12 months
• Authorized to work in the U.S., be a U.S. citizen or pass an E-Verify check
