Local CDL A or CDL B Driver

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duty of the Driver, referred to as a Logistics Specialist II (with or without a Crane Operator), is to deliver building materials to customers' businesses or job sites. Drivers operate within a maximum of a 200-mile radius of their home branch, with deliveries originating and ending at the branch (no overnight stays).

• Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all DOT regulations
• Lead job site safety by operating all equipment according to local, state, and federal laws
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Validate and confirm inventory loaded on the truck, compare with purchase orders, sign off on delivery tickets, confirm addresses, and ensure routing information is obtained prior to leaving the branch
• Conduct a job site inspection, document any existing damage to lawn, landscaping, or driveway, and note the location of power lines, sprinklers, septic tanks, mailboxes, fences, etc.
• Capture pictures of all building products delivered, following Company Policy

Requirements

• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Ability to load and unload building products weighing up to 100 lbs. each, off a straight bed truck; experience with forklift or Moffett preferred
• Safe driving record with no hit & runs, DWI, or DUI convictions in the last three years; recent accidents or violations will be reviewed
• Prior commercial driving experience and knowledge of DOT & OSHA safety regulations are a plus
• Distribution experience is a plus
• Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
• Minimum age of 18; 21 if crossing state lines or transporting hazardous materials (rare cases)
• Pass a drug test and hold a current DOT medical certificate; no positive drug tests in the last 12 months
• U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S., passing E-Verify
