Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is hiring Local P&D or City Drivers to move freight between service centers and customer sites. You will read shipping labels, load and unload freight, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations while maintaining safe operations.

The job requires a valid Class A CDL with endorsements, at least 12 months of tractor-trailer experience (or approved training), and the ability to pass required health and safety tests.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, and speak English.
• Must possess a valid Class A CDL with double/triple trailers, tanker, and hazmat endorsements.
• Experience with 12 months tractor-trailer driving or completion of an approved driving school.
• Ability to operate handheld tablets and follow instructions via two-way radio or phone.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle safely under DOT regulations and hours of service.
• Meet or exceed medical standards and pass drug/alcohol tests.
• Load/unload freight using appropriate equipment and safe practices.
• Transport freight between service centers and customer locations.
• Follow shipping labels and complete required freight forms.
• Provide safe loading and secure freight inside trailers.
• Be available to meet pickup and delivery schedules.
