Job summary

California Sierra Express is seeking a delivery driver to operate a 26' box truck on local LA area routes. This full-time role offers a Mon-Fri schedule with 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM shifts and a pay range of $20.00 - $23.00 per hour, DOE.

You will perform pickups, deliveries, and recoveries of freight in a time-sensitive, professional manner. Requirements include a minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience, a valid Class C license, and a clean DMV record.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain within 30 days.
• Clean DMV record with no serious violations in 5 years.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local traffic laws.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Consistent attendance Monday to Friday is required.
• Operate a 26' box truck for pickups, deliveries and recoveries.
• Maintain accurate records such as vehicle inspections and daily manifests.
• Load and unload freight; report freight dimensions and weight.
• Adhere to FMCSA, DOT, TSA and OSHA safety requirements.
• Follow company safety policies and security procedures.

Our Delivery Drivers operate a 26' commercial, liftgate box truck to perform pick-ups, deliveries and recoveries of freight in a time-sensitive and professional manner.

Our Box Truck Drivers maintain accurate, up-to-date records such as Vehicle Inspection Reports, daily manifests, and incident reports. Drivers are responsible for loading and unloading freight and for reporting accurate dimensions and weight of freight.

California Sierra Express has been serving the air freight logistics industry for over 35 years. We operate five freight terminals in CA and one in Reno, NV. We're an overnight carrier serving international and domestic freight forwarders as a final mile Pick-Up and Delivery agent for shipments that travel around the globe.

You'll be joining a local team of over 30 people all committed to providing the best service possible to our customers who trust Cal Sierra to move their shipments on-time throughout the greater LA Metro Area.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Consistent attendance Mon - Fri is mandatory. Additional weekend work is available, if desired.
• Complete assigned route in a timely manner. Route size can vary day to day and may require 8-10hours to complete.
• Practice defensive driving principles and follow all company safety policies.
• Comply with all laws and regulations relating to driving, transporting and handling of freight including those issued by but limited to The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT).
• Comply with truck and cargo security requirements as outlined by the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA).
• Comply with safe work practices as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA)
• Comply with federal drug and alcohol regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Must be at least 23 years of age.
• Minimum of one (1) year commercial driving experience.
• Clean DMV record (no serious moving violations in the past 5 years)
• Valid DOT Medical Card or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA laws and regulations, preferred.
• Ability to effectively communicate in English; verbally and in writing.
