Job summary

Grand Hyatt Nashville is seeking a Lobby Bartender to shape the guest experience through exceptional service and beverage knowledge. You will craft cocktails, manage bar operations, and create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances guest satisfaction and F&B revenue.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, TIPS certification, and ability to meet state age requirements. The role requires cash handling, POS familiarity, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Responsibilities

  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and drinks.

  • Stock and replenish glasses, beverages, mixes, fruit and guest supplies.
  • Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
  • Lead associates in the absence of the Supervisor when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Lobby Bartender will shape the guest experience through excellent service, product knowledge, and engaging hospitality. Your ability to craft beverages, manage bar operations, and create a welcoming atmosphere directly impacts guest satisfaction, food and beverage revenue, and brand reputation. Whether serving solo or supporting a team, your presence at the bar influences the energy and pace of service across the outlet.

HOW YOU’LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE
  • Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Serve wine draught, bottled beer, non-alcoholic beverages and food.
  • Collect money for drinks served.
  • Orders and requisitions liquors and supplies. Stock and replenish glasses, beverages, mixes, fruit, and guest supplies.
  • Place bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.
  • Wash glasses, bar, and equipment.
  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks; prepare appetizers, such as pickles, cheese and cold meats.
  • Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
  • If functioning in a Lead Capacity: (a) take responsibility for assigned associates in the absence of the Supervisor, (b) assign work, and ensure proper performance of assigned associates.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
  • Previous bartending experience in a hotel, bar, or restaurant environment preferred
  • Experience with cash handling, POS systems, and bar setup/teardown
  • Familiarity with food pairing and cross-selling techniques considered a plus
  • Capable of working independently or as part of a larger service team
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • TIPS certification or equivalent required
  • Must meet all state and local age requirements for serving alcohol
