The Bartender is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives in the social venues of the hotel. The bartender sets up, services, and breaks down the bar area, ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and service.
Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner.
- Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes, and serve all food and beverage requests at the bar.
- Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
- Prepare the bar for service by ensuring supplies, garnishes, and utensils are properly set up according to quality standards.
- Inventory unused liquor and beverages, and ensure all liquor is properly secured before, during, and after shifts.
- Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures, and accurately ring in drink orders into the POS system.
- Clean and reset the bartop and tables immediately after guests depart.
- Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned.
- Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
- Follow established safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain uniform and grooming standards.
- Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.
Work Environment
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Majority of work takes place indoors.
- Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures, e.g., kitchens, freezers.

Expected Hours of Work
- Must be flexible to work variable days, including weekends and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Experience as a bartender required, preferably in a high-volume bar.
- Experience with computerized cash registers preferred.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work quickly without compromising quality.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain high performance.
- Attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and colleagues.
- Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for the entire shift.
- Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Food handler and TIPS certificates required.
- Previous front-facing guest service experience required.
- Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
