Job summary

PFCU's Lending department seeks an Underwriter to review and approve or counter-offer consumer loan applications, ensuring compliance with policy and service standards. You will back the Originating Team, explain decisions, and handle online applications through the DL4 system.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of underwriting experience, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of Symitar or TCI, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years lending and underwriting experience is required.
• Ability to structure loans within PFCU policies and procedures.
• Strong understanding of lending policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Build a solid profitable loan from a completed loan application prepared by the Lending Originator.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of CU lending policy and interest rates and discuss loan alternatives with the Originator.
• Provide service and support to the Originating Team to explain denials and counter-offers.
• Back Office Tasks as assigned.
• Accept, approve, deny or counter-offer on-line applications through DL4.
• Send out Adverse Actions.
