Job summary

FreedomBank, a 100% employee-owned community bank serving Northeast Iowa, seeks a Loan Processor in Waukon, IA. You will prepare accurate loan documents, assist lenders with closings, and manage post-closing duties to keep files compliant and current.

In this role you will provide excellent customer service, review files for completeness, and help manage escrow accounts for taxes and insurance. We value integrity, teamwork, and strong computer skills with MS Office.

Qualifications

• Prepare accurate loan documents for various types of loans in a timely manner.
• Assist lenders with closing preparation and required file documentation.
• Book, fund, and review closed loans for accurate entry in the loan system.
• Assist with post-closing duties including recording documents and filing security instruments.
• Provide exceptional customer service while assisting customers with loan payments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain weekly and monthly loan-related reports.
• Review loan files for completeness, accuracy and compliance.
• Work as a team with other loan support staff and assist as needed.
• Assist with managing escrow accounts for taxes and insurance and processing disbursements.
• Help staff with questions regarding processing, underwriting, closing and payments.

Requirements

• Prepare accurate loan documents for various types of loans in a timely manner.
• Assist lenders with preparing for loan closings which may include ordering and obtaining required file documentation.
• Book, fund, and review closed loans to ensure that they are set up and maintained accurately in the loan system.
• Assist with post-closing duties including recording documents, scanning file documents, ordering title work, and/or filing security instruments.
• Process release requests for loan payoffs which may include preparation of release documents for security instruments.
• Provide exceptional customer service while assisting customers with loan payment processing and loan-related questions.
• Maintain weekly and monthly loan-related reports.
• Review loan files for completeness, accuracy and applicable compliance requirements.
• Work as a team with other loan support staff and assist others as needed.
• Assist with managing escrow accounts for taxes and insurance as well as processing disbursements.
• Help loan staff and customers with questions regarding processing, underwriting, closing and payments.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Trustworthiness and ability to act with integrity.
• Thorough understanding of customer service.
• Ability to solve practical problems and handle a variety of situations with limited standardization.
• Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office products.

Physical Requirements

• Exposed to prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Regularly required to stand, bend, stoop, and walk.
• Ability to see clearly at close and distant ranges and adjust focus.
• Required to perform repetitive hand movements, such as typing, writing, and filing.
• Required to frequently lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
• Required to have the ability to drive to other FreedomBank locations as needed.
