Job summary

Blackhawk Bank & Trust is seeking a Loan Specialist to support loan officers and ensure accurate preparation and management of loan documentation. You will coordinate the loan process, maintain regulatory compliance, and provide excellent customer service to help drive efficient loan processing and successful lending operations.

The role involves handling routine inquiries, documentation requests, imaging, and file management across the loan lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in loan processing, loan documentation, or related field preferred.
• Basic computer skills with Excel, Outlook, Word, and other software.

Responsibilities

• Respond to routine inquiries from loan officers and customers about account status, loan balances, payoff quotes, payment processing, and loan advances; including auto pay setup and address updates.
• Assist loan officers and other personnel to ensure proper documentation is prepared and provided.
• Follow loan process steps including ordering and requesting financials, credit reports, UCC filings, title policies or searches, appraisals, flood determinations, and loan documents.
• Scan loan documentation into imaging software for secure storage and retrieval.
• Assist with preparation of loan files and documentation requests for audits and examinations.
• Adhere to compliance standards, bank regulations, and loan policies to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
• Support lenders during initial loan process by electronically sending documents for customer signatures.
• Build loans in AccuAccount and upload closing documents to the system.
• Ensure loans are properly funded and complete file checklists.
• Manage Construction Draw files, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
• Handle construction draws and floorplans with proper documentation and processing.
• All other duties as assigned.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Respond to routine inquiries from loan officers and customers by providing accurate information on account status, loan balances, payoff quotes, payment processing and loan advances; including auto pay setup and address updates.
• Assist loan officers and other personnel to ensure proper related documentation is prepared and/or provided.
• Follow the process of the loan with regard to ordering and requesting documentation, including financials, credit bureau reports, UCC filings, title policies or searches, appraisals, flood determinations, and loan documents.
• Scan loan documentation into the document imaging software for secure storage and easy retrieval.
• Assist with the preparation of loan files and documentation requests for internal and external audits and examinations.
• Adhere to compliance standards, bank regulations, and loan policies to ensure all activities are conducted within legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Support lenders during the initial stages of the loan process by facilitating smooth operations, including electronically sending documents for customer signatures.
• Build loans in AccuAccount, including scanning all pertinent documents for closing and uploading them to the system.
• Ensure loans are properly funded, send copies for loans to be built into the core system and complete file document checklists.
• Manage the organization and oversight of Construction Draw files, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Handle construction draws and floorplans, ensuring proper documentation and processing.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous experience in loan processing, loan documentation, or a related field is preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Excel, Outlook, Word, and other relevant software.
