Job summary

WestStar Bank in El Paso, TX seeks a Loan Servicing Specialist II or III to manage processing of loan payments, advances, payoffs, and ongoing account maintenance. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate servicing and compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include posting payments, reconciling accounts, handling payoff quotes, escrow support, and providing proactive operational support to lending and credit teams.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in banking, financial services, or a related field; prior loan account servicing preferred.
• Working knowledge of loan servicing transactions preferred.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional departments.
• Experience with Microsoft programs, Bank core systems and loan servicing platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process loan advances, payments, payoffs, fee waivers, and transaction reversals accurately and timely.
• Process daily transactions through the digital teller scanner and maintain required record retention files.
• Post loan payments and advances and reconcile participation loan accounts.
• Establish and maintain AFT and ACH requests.
• Respond to customer and internal inquiries via phone and email, including providing payoff quotes.
• Perform daily loan maintenance activities, including closing lines of credit and updating loan records.
• Review, reconcile, and maintain daily loan billing statements.
• Research and resolve loan history discrepancies, escalating complex issues to management as appropriate.
• Process written credit verification requests in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with the processing of partial releases and paid-out loan collateral releases.
• Serve as the primary backup for escrow administration and LERETA tax service functions.
• Provide support to Loan Funding & Set‑Up Specialists and Loan Documentation Review Specialists as needed.
• Deliver proactive operational support to lending, credit, and loan administration staff.

Summary

The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for the administration of the timely processing of loan payments, advances, loan payoffs, and ongoing loan account maintenance. This position supports Credit and Loan Operations by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient servicing activities. The Loan Servicing Specialist maintains accurate records, identifies and resolves exceptions to ensure compliance with established procedures, bank policies, and regulatory requirements.
