Loan Processor and Underwriter, Seller Finance

Call the Underwriter helps private lenders and investors stay Dodd-Frank compliant by ensuring buyers meet the "ability to repay" requirement in all 50 states. They assist with compliance and underwriting for originators of seller finance loans, navigating the complex legislative landscape.

Role Description

This is a part-time (20 hrs per week) remote role for a Loan Processor and Underwriter, Seller Finance at Call the Underwriter. The individual will be responsible for handling loan documents, communicating with clients, underwriting loans, and processing loans.

What you’ll do

• Communicate with lenders & borrowers—email, phone, text—to explain CTU’s underwriting process and gather missing info.
• Process & underwrite loans.
• Move data from Zoho Forms/email into Byte LOS.
• Apply underwriting SOPs, create loan conditions, and prepare Loan Estimates, Closing Disclosures, and final packages.
• Own the pipeline: track files, issue invoices, follow up on payments.
• Improve how we work: flag gaps, suggest automation, refine documentation.

Qualifications

• Prior loan processing and residential underwriting experience.
• Strong verbal & written skills—comfortable guiding both borrowers and lenders.
• Solid grasp of invoicing and task tracking.
• Tech-savvy: ready to learn Byte LOS & Zoho (or have used them before).
• Organized self-starter who enjoys evolving processes.
• High level understanding of seller finance

Nice-to-have / stretch skills

• Bilingual (English and Spanish).
• RMLO license (or willingness to obtain.
• Workflow automation (Zapier), Zoho CRM, Byte LOS super-user, or website tweaks in WordPress/Elementor.
• Marketing touches—posting podcasts, email campaigns, basic social (Facebook).
• Note sale due-diligence and advising clients on loan terms.
• Experience with creative finance / subto.
• True flexibility: work ~20 hrs/wk on your schedule, fully remote.
• Growth path: earn more with an RMLO license and by taking on bonus projects (IT admin, automation, note due-diligence, etc.).
• Process + people: small team that values initiative, celebrates efficiency, and builds lasting lender/borrower relationships.
