First Midwest Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Processor to handle loan and credit applications for customers. You will process applications, maintain records, and verify information to ensure accurate disbursement of loans.

Responsibilities include computing payments, providing loan information to customers, and balancing daily activities across branches. A high school diploma or GED and basic computer skills are required.

Qualifications

• Maintains and balances cash drawer.

Summary

Processes applications of individuals applying for loans and credit by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Accepts and processes payments on loans.
• Keeps record of applications for loans and credit.
• Computes interest and payments.
• Provides customer credit information or rating on request to retail stores, credit agencies, or banks.
• Advises customer by phone or in writing about loan information.
• Balances loans daily for Dexter and all branches.
• Enter new loans and extensions daily on Jack Henry system for Dexter.
• Answers customer phone calls, inquiries and research on the loans.
• Answers incoming calls.
• Processes maintenance on loan system for Dexter and all branches.
• Processes participation draws and payments.
• Prints, mails and calls companies to obtain insurance for Dexter loans and scans insurance daily to Collateral Protection Insurance Company.
• Draws on loans for customers.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer.
• Researches loan error and makes corrections for Dexter and all branches.
• Scans new Dexter loans to Efile.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
