Job summary

Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust is seeking a detail-oriented Loan Processing Clerk to handle daily mail processing, loan renewals, and payoff activities. You will verify accurate data entry across various loan types and respond to customer inquiries by phone and email.

The role requires strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) and prior loan document experience. Office setting with routine use of standard equipment and limited local travel.

Qualifications

• Prior loan document experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Process mail daily (payments and payoffs).
• Process all types of loans and renewals within 48 hours of scanning.
• Review all loans and renewals within 7 days for accuracy.
• Credit card processing including issuing cards and handling payments.
• Release collateral on paid-off loans and communicate with customers.
• Enter loan processing tracking and activate history cards.
• Handle loan questions by phone or e-mail.
• File maintenance, holds, and loan documentation.
