Job summary

First Convenience Bank is seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to originate high-quality loans and build relationships with local real estate agents and builders. You will manage a territory across affiliated banks, train staff on mortgage basics, and guide borrowers through the loan process.

The role requires in-person origination experience, knowledge of government loan programs, and proficiency with Ellie Mae Encompass. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 18+ years of age.
• 2+ years of recent in-person mortgage origination with solid book of business.
• Experience in commission-based origination role.
• Knowledge of VA, FHA and conventional mortgage loan programs.
• Knowledge of LP, DU and Clout Automated Underwriting Systems.
• Experience with Ellie Mae mortgage originating and processing software.
• Self-motivation and ability to work from home with limited supervision.
• Ability to review and understand credit reports.
• Organizational and prioritization skills.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Must pass background investigation per policy.
• Able to get along with coworkers and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Originate high quality loans meeting FCMC guidelines.
• Develop business relationships with local Real Estate agents and builders.
• Manage territory of First National Bank Texas and First Convenience banks; train employees on mortgage loan basics.
• Develop contacts with Banks partner store management team.
• Take customer loan applications, including pulling credit.
• Conduct presentations (First Time Home Buyer seminars, realtor meetings, product training).
• Communicate with borrowers and real estate agents throughout the loan process.
• Issue and explain pre-qualification letters, disclosures and initial compliance docs (GFE, TIL, APR).
• May serve as general office manager (clerical duties, supplies, staff schedules).
• Serve as liaison between locations and corporate management on needs and concerns.
• Travel as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Depending on location and business need, this position may serve as a general office manager. Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, general correspondence, supply maintenance, and clerical staff schedules.


• This position may also serve as acting liaison between position locations and corporate management regarding office incidents, business needs, and client concerns.


• Travel as needed to meet business needs
