Republic Bank of Chicago is seeking a Loan Ops Team Leader to supervise Loan Operations Team #3, ensuring accurate reconciliations, reporting, and adherence to policies. You will review loan file maintenance and change reports, and coordinate with other departments on complex servicing tasks.

The role requires supervisory skills, strong Excel ability, and a commitment to customer service while providing guidance and training to team members. Occasional travel to Darien may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years loan processing or loan servicing experience preferred.
• Familiar with lending concepts and banking procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily and month-end reconciliations for Loan Control and other GLs.
• Review file maintenance for loans and system-generated reports for accuracy.
• Research and resolve errors in cross checks and reports.
• Respond to credit bureau disputes and HELOC advances per procedure.
• Assist customers with inquiries and support collection/litigation requires.
• Travel to Darien office as needed.

TITLE: Loan Ops Team Leader – Team #3 STATUS: Non-ExemptMANAGER: SVP/Loan Operations ManagerDEPARTMENT: Loan OperationsGENERAL FUNCTION: Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the loan servicing functions required to maintain the bank’s loan portfolio and service all loan customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare the daily and month-end reconciliations for Loan Control, and other GLs and deposit accounts as assigned.Review the file maintenance performed for all loans in connection with the system generated reports to ensure that all actions were performed accurately and under proper authority.Review the maintenance cross check report daily, researching and communicating any errors that need to be cleared with other department members.Review the Bank Control Change report for accurate rate changes and other changes performed within the loan system or by Loan Operations.Research and respond to credit bureau disputes received directly from customers and through the EOscar system.Review all HELOC advances according to the established procedure.Perform required investor reporting in coordination with other department team leaders.Review the loan disbursement check log daily for any discrepancies.Prepare various month-end reports, as assigned.Perform research and prepare information requested on loans for collection and/or litigation purposes.Assist customers with inquiries in a timely manner.Retrieve Ring Central messages from department voicemail and respond in a timely manner.Lock all department cabinets and drawers nightly to ensure the safety of customer information.Access, review, and process reports, checklists, and procedures assigned in connection with the above responsibilities.Travel to Darien office on occasion, as needed.Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitor the team’s performance as it pertains to adherence to established policies and procedures.Recommend new or updated policies and procedures to management.Provide guidance and training to team members.Communicate the needs of the team to management.Conduct periodic team meetings, as needed.Perform required review and/or approval of any department work as required within established guidelines, policies, and procedures when needed.Provide support to team members and all bank coworkers involved in more complex servicing processes and issues, including, but not limited to, performing calculations, providing analysis, and proposing resolutions.Assist in identifying, developing, and promoting efficient processes and procedures.EXPECTATIONS:Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Provide support for other members of the department as needed including special projects as assigned.MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:High School Diploma or its equivalent.2 years loan processing or loan servicing experience with a focus in commercial lending preferred.Familiar with a variety of the lending and general banking concepts, practices, and procedures.Knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).Strong verbal and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills.Excellent customer service skills.Ability to work and think independently.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Every employee of Republic Bank is responsible for knowing and practicing Bank Secrecy Laws (AML/CIP/SAR/CTR/OFAC), the USA Patriot Act, and other related regulations as they relate to their specific job function.
