Job summary

First Bank & Trust is seeking a meticulous Loan Operations Specialist to support daily loan transaction processing, working closely with loan officers and processors. You will handle loan accounting activities, respond to customer inquiries, balance totals to the general ledger, run workflow processes, and assist with training new team members while upholding compliance and company policies.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma with at least one year of post-secondary education and two years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of bank loan and accounting procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform loan accounting activities across the organization, including input of new loans, funding, payments, wire transfers, extensions, file maintenance, and reports.
• Respond to customer loan inquiries and coordinate with other institutions on participations, payments, and taxes.
• Balance loan totals to the general ledger daily and resolve discrepancies.
• Process unposted loan transactions daily and correct errors.
• Enter and balance loan participation activity within legal lending limits.
• Run automated workflow processes.
• Review/verify loan maintenance, automated workflows, uploads and balancing.
• Assist with onboarding and training new team members and handle assigned projects.
• Adhere to FBT policies, procedures and compliance training.
