Job summary

Legacy Mutual Mortgage is seeking a mortgage loan officer to originate loans, assist borrowers through applications, and coordinate with realtors and processors in Texas. You will manage referrals, present loan programs, disclose terms, and lock in rates while meeting production goals.

The role requires 3+ years of mortgage experience, NMLS eligibility, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work in a high-volume environment with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience.
• At least 3 years' experience as a mortgage loan officer or comparable experience originating loans.
• Must be eligible for NMLS registration and licensing.
• Analytical ability to evaluate credit applications and to make fair and impartial decisions.
• Working knowledge of laws and regulations related to mortgage lending.
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Responsibilities

• Calls and visits prospective referral sources for loan production goals.
• Assists prospective borrowers in completing loan applications and disclosures.
• Provides guidance on loan programs, discloses terms, and locks in interest rates.
• Develops sales campaigns and coordinates marketing activities.
• Maintains knowledge of loan products and expands relationships with realtors and borrowers.
• Monitors the loan process to ensure close and funding on schedule.

• Calls and visits prospective referral sources for the solicitation of mortgage loans in accordance with company standards and loan production goals.
• Assists prospective borrowers in the proper completion of loan applications, provides required disclosures, collects funds for services to be ordered and gathers necessary support documents from prospective borrowers.
• Provides customer assistance in the selection of loan programs that best fit their needs, discloses loan terms, and locks in loan interest rates.
• Develops sales campaigns in alignment with company goals and coordinates the marketing activities.
• Develops new business and expands existing relationships. Maintains knowledge of commercial loan products and services, as well as knowledge of the industries or market areas served.
• Coordinates with realtors and borrowers by providing answers to any questions on loan status updates and provides any significant changes to loan terms or closing dates.
• Coordinates the loan processing efforts by communicating loan status between borrowers and processors.
• Encourages inter-departmental referrals by providing training (when appropriate) and product support for front-line personnel.
• Monitors the Loan process to ensure Loans close and fund on the date specified by the borrower.
• Manages relationships within loan portfolio to include handling follow-ups, collections or delinquent and problem loans as requested.
• May assist with other duties as assigned.
• Must maintain regular attendance.

• Must be dependable, self-motivated and require minimal supervision.
