Job summary

Gateway is seeking a Document Preparation Specialist I to support the preparation of consumer and commercial loan documents, including real estate secured loans and asset-based lines of credit.

The role requires careful review of documents, coordination with lending and legal staff, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with all policies and regulations. Prior loan documentation exposure and SBA lending experience are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 0-2 years in loan documentation preparation field or related banking field.
• Experience with loan documentation software systems preferred.
• Experience with SBA lending preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist lending staff on pre-closing documentation required for loan document preparation and loan closing.
• Address discrepancies with lending staff and Legal counsel to resolve issues and develop solutions.
• Review and validate documents collected by retail staff for accuracy and compliance with loan approval.
• Review approved credit memos to determine loan type and structure and accurately reflect terms.
• Gather all documents for loans and ensure adherence to approved terms and proper perfection of collateral.
