Job summary

First Southern Bank in Marion, IL, seeks a detail-oriented Loan Documentation Clerk to support daily loan file preparation and imaging. You will review loan notes, image and file new loans, and import related documents into our imaging system. This role supports lenders and personal bankers while backing up the file maintenance clerk.

Travel to other locations may be required to fill in for team members. The position reports to the AVP Loan Doc Prep Manager and involves projects to improve loan

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least two years of loan experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of loan documents and loan process is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Daily review of new notes audit for loans to be imaged for all branches.
• Imaging and filing of all new loans.
• Importing follow-up files into the imaging system (mortgages, titles, UCCs, final title policies, file notes).
• Monitor and update the tickler report for all branches.
• Assist lenders and personal bankers with loan documentation preparation for new consumer loans.
• Backup for the loan file maintenance clerk.
• Assist the Loan Documentation Prep Manager with projects as needed.

This position is under the direction of the AVP Loan Doc Prep Manager and is responsible for performing routine daily duties. Promotes business for the Bank by serving every customer in a friendly, efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for daily review of new notes audit for loans to be imaged for all branches.
• Imaging and filing of all new loans.
• Importing follow-up files items into the imaging system such as recorded mortgages, titles, UCCs, final title policies, file notes, etc.
• Responsibility of monitoring and updating the tickler report for all branches.
• Assist lenders and personal bankers with loan documentation preparation for new consumer loans.
• Backup for the loan file maintenance clerk.
• Assist the Loan Documentation Prep Manager with projects as needed.

SKILLS REQUIRED

1. High school diploma or equivalent required
2. Minimum two years loan experience preferred
3. Knowledge of loan documents & loan process is a plus
4. Proficient use of adding machines
5. Proficient in Excel and Word
6. Good interpersonal and customer service skills

Travel may be required to other locations to fill in for team members as needed.
