Job summary

Valley Bank in Wayne, NJ is seeking a Loan Accounting/Servicing Specialist to prepare, review, and maintain commercial lending reports, including Call Reports and regulatory submissions. You will administer loan system maintenance, monitor portfolio quality, perform general ledger reconciliations, and support audits and cross-functional process improvements across lending, compliance, and risk teams.

This role requires 3+ years in loan accounting/servicing and strong math, accounting, and Excel

Qualifications

3+ years of loan accounting/servicing or lending-related experience.
Knowledge of financial reporting and GL processes.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and maintain commercial lending, portfolio monitoring, and regulatory reports, including Call Report schedules, past due reporting, Shared National Credit reporting, Regulation O reporting, and other Credit Risk reporting requirements.
Administer loan system maintenance and servicing activities, including charge-offs, loss mitigation, legal workout and REO transactions, risk rating updates, commitment maintenance, billing changes, and related recordkeeping.
Monitor portfolio credit quality metrics, including non-accrual loans, impaired loans, delinquencies, maturities, unused commitments, and pledged loan collateral, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory reporting requirements.
Perform general ledger reconciliations, data validation, and financial reporting support by researching discrepancies, completing certifications, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of loan and accounting records.
Coordinate regulatory compliance and reporting activities, including CRA, HMDA, Federal Reserve Borrower in Custody, records retention reviews, and related examinations or reporting submissions.
Support audits, cross-functional research, process improvement initiatives, and departmental projects by providing documentation, resolving data issues, maintaining procedures, and collaborating with lending, compliance, legal workout, and risk management teams.
