Job summary

Axos Bank is seeking a Manager of Loan Accounting to lead the accounting, reporting, and reconciliation of the loan portfolio. You will oversee the team, ensure GAAP compliance, and partner with Lending, Credit, Finance, Treasury, and Operations to support audits and regulatory filings.

The role requires 7+ years in accounting or loan accounting, a Bachelor's degree, and strong leadership. Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and equity-like awards as part of the compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA preferred.
• 7+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or loan accounting experience.
• 3+ years of management or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience with various lending products and ACL process.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting for the bank's loan portfolio across lending products.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close for loan accounting.
• Monitor controls and drive process improvements for accuracy and efficiency.
• Support ACL process and regulatory reporting with other teams.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
• Lead and develop accounting staff; collaborate with tech and ops teams on systems.
