Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Manufacturing Associate in Anchorage, AK. The base pay rate is $21.00 - $23.00 per hour, with 1st Shift hours 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM; hours may vary with operations. You will operate forklifts, assist with packaging, and help protect parts during transport.

Responsibilities include following safety rules, performing inventory counts, and contributing to continuous improvement. Overtime may be required, and a strong emphasis on quality and teamwork is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver license required.
• Forklift experience preferred; training on forklift will be provided.
• Crane experience a plus; training available.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow safety rules in a manufacturing environment.
• Operate forklifts and other lifting equipment safely.
• Assist with inventory counts as required.
• Support packaging and crating to protect parts during transport.
• Suggest cost-saving ideas to improve productivity and reduce waste.
• Read and follow posted schedules; overtime may be required.
• May be assigned other projects by team leader.

Job Description

JOB DETAILS

Base pay rate is $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

1st Shift Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, hours may vary depending on operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Employs a range of crating and packaging resources, including metal bands and protective coverings, to ensure parts are securely fastened and safeguarded during transport.
• Proficient in operating forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Responsible for each lift, deciding when to check actual vs maximum allowable trailer load.
• Assists with inventory counts as required
• Maintains practices for continuous improvement within the work area.
• Utilize scanning equipment
• Inspect work visually for defects according to Quality Systems
• Provide cost‑saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste
• Willing/able to work overtime
• Ability read, write, and follow posted schedules
• May be assigned other projects or tasks by the team leader

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Valid Driver License
• A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
• Good Communication Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• Forklift experience a plus / Must be trainable on forklift
• Crane experience a plus / Must be trainable on crane
• Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Ability to work in a non‑temperature‑controlled environment
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment
