Job summary

Barclays Center is seeking a Manager, Loading Dock Operations to oversee the arena's subterranean loading dock with a focus on safety, organization and efficiency. The role balances tenant, promoter, vendor, and internal needs in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.

The successful candidate will manage over 200 annual events, supervise full- and part-time staff, and use MS Office tools to create schedules and reports. On-site, nights, weekends and holidays are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management, Business, or Logistics/Supply Chain Management plus 2 years of progressively responsible positions in the job offered.
• Experience with 18,000+ seat sports/entertainment facilities is preferred.
• Must be detail oriented, flexible, and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate day-to-day activities of all deliveries for the arena.
• Lead the Loading Dock Team during day-to-day operations and events.
• Supervise workers loading/unloading trucks and moving/storing materials.
• Enforce daily delivery schedules for operational efficiency.
• Coordinate event-related trucks and scheduling, including team parking when required.
• Coordinate with 3rd party vendors and service agreements.
• Hire, train, and instruct staff on 24-hour operation procedures.
• Plan and perform maintenance on loading dock equipment (forklifts, lifts, dock levelers).
• Train employees on forklift and scissor lift safety and operation.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment for personnel, tenants, vendors and clients.
• Assist with recruiting, training, supervision, and evaluation of personnel and service providers.
• Prepare projected event cost analyses for areas of responsibility.
• Assist with purchasing and inventory control of consumables, tools and equipment.
• Build effective relationships with leadership, managers, staff, patrons and sponsors.
