Job summary

The Loader/Unloader I at Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope is responsible for moving glass and metal products between stations and preparing delivery shipments under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.

Ideal candidates demonstrate attention to safety, quality, and reliability, with the ability to read basic measurements, lift up to 75 lbs, and stand for long periods in a production setting. OBE offers competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand 8–10 hours per day on a concrete floor
• Work performed inside a production environment
• Ability to work overtime when required

Responsibilities

• On/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
• Preparing orders for delivery (organizing, securing glass for transport)
• Perform work as assigned by Supervisor.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages; ensure complete orders are loaded to the customer and properly scanned.
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure

What You’ll Get to Do

The Loader/Unloader I is focused on moving material including glass and/or metal from one position/location to another, preparing delivery trucks for customer deliveries. This includes on/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates and reports to the Production Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver. A vital member of the Shipping Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

What We Are Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required.
• Work performed inside a production environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high.
• The plant facility is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.)
