Job summary

Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Shipping Loader/Unloader to prepare products for delivery in a fast-paced setting. You will assist with on/off loading, packing, labeling, and basic clerical tasks using RF equipment.

The role requires reliability, ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and standing 8–10 hours daily on a concrete floor; starting pay is $20 per hour with potential for raises and bonuses.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines; overtime when required.
• Work performed inside a production environment.
• Lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Stand 8–10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Moderate to high noise levels.
• Climate conditions of the region.

Responsibilities

• On/off loading of glass from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or crates.
• Assembling boxes, crates, or containers.
• Labeling and marking containers and inserting lining or padding material.
• Weighing, measuring and counting product.
• Packing items according to shipping needs and supervisor specifications.
• Completing clerical tasks with a shop floor computer and RF equipment.
• Conducting inspections to ensure quality and no damage.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Shipping Loader/Unloader is focused on preparing our products for delivery and reports to the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor. This role is perfect for an individual who has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, has excellent attendance and some mechanical skills.

Starting pay is $20 per hour.

Job responsibilities include:

• On/off loading of glass from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for eight or more hours daily
• Assembling boxes, crates, or containers
• Labeling and marking containers and insert lining or padding material to protect items during shipment
• Weighing, measuring and counting product
• Packing items according to shipping needs or supervisors' specifications, ensuring that the crates/boxes and packages are accurately packed
• Completing clerical tasks with the ability to use shop floor computer and RF equipment
• Conducting inspections to examine products and make sure they meet our specifications for quality and aren't damaged

What We Are Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to read, understand, and communicate
• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required
• Work performed inside a production environment
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted
• Ability to stand on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor
• Noise levels in the work environment can be moderate to high
• The plant facility is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.)
