Job summary

Knife River - South is seeking a Front End Loader Operator to join our safety‑driven, team‑oriented group. Typical hours Monday–Friday with some Saturdays as needed; weather and demand may affect schedules.

Responsibilities include daily inspections, operating loader and plant maintenance, material loading and ensuring safe, efficient production on site. Applicants should pass pre-employment screening, have a high school diploma or GED, and be able to work overtime in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must meet Knife River-South employment standards with regards to background/MVR checks.
• Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (day time/night time).
• Ability to work outside in all seasons.
• Must have a "safety first" attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment inspections and site checks to identify unsafe conditions and keep equipment maintained.
• Safely operate loader and other equipment.
• Keep concrete plant fed for maximum production.
• Load trucks with road materials up to legal weight limits.
• Maintain smooth, level haul roads and contaminate-free piles.
• Inspect material quality and check gradation, oversize rocks and contaminants.
• Check for spillage and clean up daily; assist with shoveling.
• Monitor for flashing wear that could cause spills.
• Work safely and follow safety protocols; communicate effectively with colleagues.
• Troubleshoot production issues and discuss problems with team and supervisors.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, DNR and lockout/tag-out regulations.
• Attend work consistently and perform other labor tasks as assigned.
