D&M Owens Inc. is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Loader Operator to support our Paving Division. This role is responsible for operating a front-end loader to supply asphalt, aggregate, and other materials to paving crews, maintain stockpiles, and support efficient daily operations. The ideal candidate has previous experience in paving or heavy equipment operation and understands the pace and precision required to support asphalt production.
Safely operate a front-end loader to move, load, and distribute materials such as asphalt, aggregate, and base materials. Keep paver, trucks, and crew supplied with material throughout the shift. Maintain and organize material stockpiles to ensure proper separation and clean, accessible work areas. Load trucks with precision and follow weight guidelines. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain loader cleanliness; ensure proper fueling, greasing, and minor maintenance tasks. Support the paving crew by assisting with site prep, cleanup, and general labor when needed. Follow all safety procedures, including proper PPE and traffic control guidelines. Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during paving operations that require continuous material flow.
Previous experience operating a loader in a construction or paving environment preferred. Strong understanding of safety practices when working with asphalt, trucks, and heavy equipment. Ability to work in tight, busy, and fast-moving job sites. Must be able to lift 50+ lbs., and work outdoors in hot weather. Dependable, punctual, and able to work well within a small team. Valid drivers license required; CDL a plus but not required.
Outdoor work with exposure to heat, asphalt, dust, and active paving equipment. Fast-paced, production-driven crew environment. Requires clear communication with truck drivers, paver operators, and the Foreman.
Full-time, Monday–Friday (with occasional Saturdays based on paving schedules). Competitive hourly wage based on experience. Overtime available and often required during paving season.
