Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Working knowledge of an aggregate plant and aggregate mining operations.
• Experience with CAT and John Deere front end loaders in asphalt plant environments.
• Able to perform tasks in confined spaces, climb heights, lift 50 lbs, and work in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate loaders and other equipment to support asphalt and maintenance operations.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
• Maintain clear verbal and radio communication with crew leads and coworkers.
• Navigate and troubleshoot computerized control panels on modern equipment.

We are currently hiring full time Asphalt Plant Maintenance/Operators.

Ideal candidates would have some experience within asphalt plant operations, maintenance background, and a proven safety track record.

Successful candidates would be willing to learn, eagerness to take initiative, and hard working.

Key Skill Areas and Responsibilities:

• Equipment Operation and Versatility Skill: Heavy Equipment Proficiency Operates loaders and other necessary equipment to support asphalt and maintenance operations. Demonstrates flexibility in operating multiple types of machinery based on project needs and crew requirements. Adjusts techniques depending on terrain, material type, or job complexity.
• Safety and Preventive Maintenance Skill: Safety Compliance & Daily Checks Conducts daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance (fueling, lubrication, visual checks). Identifies mechanical issues early and communicates maintenance needs promptly. Adheres to OSHA and MSHA safety standards while operating equipment or working on active job sites.
• Communication and Team Coordination Skill: Clear and Effective Communication Maintains strong verbal and written communication with crew leads and coworkers. Uses radio or phone effectively for coordination during paving or maintenance work. Supports a productive and collaborative job site atmosphere.
• Technical Aptitude and Controls Skill: Computerized Equipment & Control Systems Understands and navigates computerized or electronic control panels on modern equipment. Troubleshoots basic operational or display issues and adjusts settings as needed. Keeps equipment functioning efficiently during operations.
• Production Awareness and Job Performance Skill: Goal-Oriented Execution Consistently meets daily production targets, material placement goals, and job milestones. Prioritizes quality of work and efficiency in material handling and site cleanup. Takes initiative to support job progress, even outside core operator duties when needed.

Able to lift and carry 50lbs and work in inclement weather -Ability to navigate tight areas Rapid emergency egress Climb ladders Sit for extended periods of time Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime, and weekends if needed
