JRJ Group in Ohio is seeking Asphalt Plant Maintenance/Operator candidates with hands-on experience to operate loaders and support maintenance. The role requires willingness to learn, initiative, and a strong safety record; you must be able to work outside and adapt to variable conditions.

Ideal candidates will have experience in asphalt plant operations, basic maintenance, and the ability to follow procedures while meeting daily production targets.

Ideal candidates would have some experience within asphalt plant operations, maintenance background, and a proven safety track record. Successful candidates would be willing to learn, eagerness to take initiative, and hard working.

1. Equipment Operation and Versatility

Skill: Heavy Equipment Proficiency

Operates loaders and other necessary equipment to support asphalt and maintenance operations.

Demonstrates flexibility in operating multiple types of machinery based on project needs and crew requirements.

Adjusts techniques depending on terrain, material type, or job complexity.

1. Safety and Preventive Maintenance

Skill: Safety Compliance & Daily Checks

Conducts daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance (fueling, lubrication, visual checks).

Identifies mechanical issues early and communicates maintenance needs promptly.

Adheres to OSHA and MSHA safety standards while operating equipment or working on active job sites.

1. Communication and Team Coordination

Skill: Clear and Effective Communication

Maintains strong verbal and written communication with crew leads and coworkers.

Uses radio or phone effectively for coordination during paving or maintenance work.

Desired Qualifications

Minimum of high school diploma / GED
Valid driver’s license
Working knowledge of an aggregate plant and aggregate mining operations
CAT and John Deere front end loader experience
Minimum of three (3) experience operating front end loaders

Asphalt Plant Maintenance/Operator

Able to work in confined spaces.
Ability to climb 70-80 ft.
Able to lift and carry 50lbs and work in inclement weather -Ability to navigate tight areas
Rapid emergency egress

Climb ladders
Sit for extended periods of time
Flexible schedule with ability to work overtime, and weekends if needed
