Job summary

Koch Fertilizer, LLC in Wever, Iowa, is hiring a Loader Operator for our Plant Operations team. You will load trucks and railcars, coordinate with maintenance and logistics, and help keep operations safe, reliable, and efficient.

You will work outdoors in all weather, on 12‑hour shifts (6:00–6:00) with a 4‑5‑5 rotation, and overtime as needed to support 24/7 operations. This role emphasizes ownership and continual growth within the team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Able to climb stairs/ladders and work at heights.
• Willing to lift up to 50 pounds and operate manual valves/equipment.
• Ability to operate automated systems and learn plant processes.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

• Loading & Operations: Safely and efficiently load trucks and railcars with fertilizer products while maintaining throughput and identifying opportunities to improve loading efficiency.
• Coordination: Work closely with operations, maintenance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth product flow and proactively address potential disruptions.
• Customer Interaction: Build positive working relationships with truck drivers and rail personnel by communicating clearly, coordinating loading activities, and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience on site.
• Training & Development: Participate in training and actively seek opportunities to expand your knowledge of plant systems and operations.
• Ownership & Continuous Improvement: Identify and take ownership of problems to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Identify and help resolve loading and equipment issues to prevent recurrence.
• Safety Ownership: Take personal responsibility for safety by recognizing risks and taking action to prevent incidents.
