Job description

Loader Operator – Menzer Quarry, Colorado Springs, CO

Operates a loader for the purpose of loading and unloading trucks, loading bins and hopper with raw materials and stockpiling materials. Pay: $25–28 per hour. Day shift with occasional weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily machine inspection and routine greasing, oiling, and fueling
• Monitor any changes in machine performance to identify potential malfunctions
• Report any equipment or plant malfunctions
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment
• Assist maintenance personnel with repairs
• Maintain a level work area to allow easy movement and access
• Load trucks with correct material while eliminating contamination
• Comply with weight limits when loading trucks
• Ensure that trucks are loaded with appropriate products
• Maintain bucket levels when transporting material to keep the machine balanced and prevent spillage
• Maintain stockpiles of raw materials and finished product
• Meet customer service expectations
• Comply with all safety regulations and policies
• Operate various mobile equipment as necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications & Skills

• Two years’ experience running a loader
• Knowledge of materials
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand or walk for an extended period of time
• Occasional pushing, pulling and/or prying
• Work outside for an extended period of time
• Able to detect differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness
• Works in an environment with noise and temperature variations
• Valid driver’s license
