LKQ Corporation is seeking motivated individuals to join our operations team in Chesapeake, VA. You will operate heavy equipment, move salvage vehicles, and support dismantling and yard activities while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will update the inventory system using scan guns and tablets, assist with daily work orders, and communicate effectively with management and teammates. A basic technology proficiency, strong teamwork, and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in heavy equipment operations or related field.
• Must have heavy equipment operations experience and some automotive background.
• Must possess basic technology competence (scan gun, tablet/phone applications).
• Must have good oral and written communication skills.
• Must possess the ability to stay calm, cool and collected in a high-pressure fast-paced work environment.
• Must be a smooth operator and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment safely to move salvage vehicles and support dismantling/yard operations.
• Update inventory in the location system using scan guns and tablets/phones.
• Assist with safety, regulation compliance, and quality assurance for dismantled vehicles.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
• Load/unload vehicles, assist with staging, and communicate delays to management.
• Follow directions and perform tasks assigned by dispatch.
