The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating equipment such as excavators, mini excavators, skid steers, front-end loaders, and rough terrain forklifts. The operator must understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work-related tools and equipment.

The operator should possess competency in the following areas to perform their role safely, productively, and effectively:

1. Responsible for layout and fine grading
2. Digs on grade
3. Grades stone/gravel
4. Digs footings, foundations, and grade beams
5. Completes trenching and pit excavations
6. Performs finishing applications and hoisting

Job Requirements:

• Certifications: Certified to operate heavy equipment required
• Physical Demands:
• Ability to exert heavy physical effort, handling objects up to 80 pounds
• Ability to kneel, stoop, crouch, balance, climb, or crawl
• Ability to handle equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, excavators, rollers, dozers, skid steer loaders, track loaders, and rubber-tired loaders
• Ability to tolerate heights without fear
• Ability to maintain balance

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience with concrete batching in ready mix or concrete paving
• Technical training or related experience with concrete batching
• Thorough knowledge of concrete batching technology, equipment, methods, and safety procedures
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
