Job summary

Seminole Electric Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Cooperative Education Student in Tampa to assist with load forecasting and data analysis under supervision. This paid internship offers hands-on exposure to forecasting models and utility analytics while you complete your degree.

You will gather and clean data, create analyses and visuals in Excel, and learn how forecasts influence planning and pricing decisions within a cooperative energy system.

Qualifications

• Enrolled as part-time or full-time student pursuing a relevant degree.
• Completed coursework in statistics, data analysis, and programming (Excel, Python, SAS, or R).
• Maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA and work ~20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist in gathering, cleaning, and analyzing load, weather, and economic data.
• Support maintenance of datasets and forecasting inputs for Seminole and member cooperatives.
• Produce visualizations and exploratory data analyses using Excel and other tools.
• Document work processes and learn how forecasts contribute to utility planning.
• Participate in meetings and trainings to learn about utility load forecasting and rate analysis.
• Respond to basic data requests under supervision.
• Identify opportunities to improve forecasting inputs or model outputs.
