Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Network SRE with a reliability mindset to join our infrastructure team in Bethpage, NY. The role focuses on high‑performance load balancing infrastructure using F5 BIG-IP, transitioning to automated, observable operations, and VIP provisioning with certificate lifecycles.

You will maintain and expand traffic management architecture, focus on automation, and drive zero-downtime maintenance and performance improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
5+ years' of relevant experience.
F5 Fluency: Strong hands-on with BIG-IP/BIG-IQ, GUI and tmsh.
Fundamentals of Application Delivery: TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, SSL/TLS.
Troubleshooting: trace packets; proficient with tcpdump/Wireshark and F5 logging.
Linux/Unix: comfortable in a Linux shell.

Responsibilities

Core Engineering: configure, deploy, and troubleshoot F5 load balancing (LTM/GTM/DNS).
Incident Response: act as first line of defense for complex delivery issues.
Reliability & Automation: develop scripts and automation for VIPs, pools, and audits.
Observability: tune monitoring and F5 telemetry to preempt issues.
Maintenance: plan zero-downtime load balancer upgrades and certificate renewals.
