TikTok is seeking a Leave of Absence Analyst Project Intern (HROP) for a 2026 start in San Jose. The role focuses on LOA data analysis, trend identification, and reporting to HR leaders.

You will collaborate with payroll and department managers to ensure policy alignment with labor laws and business needs. The internship offers hands-on experience with LOA data, including sick, parental, medical, and unpaid leave, and exposure to policy optimization in a fast-paced tech environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master's in Data Science, Statistics, Human Resources Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in data querying tools (SQL, HQL) to extract LOA data from HRIS/payroll systems.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik) and spreadsheet software (Advanced Excel: PivotTables, VLOOKUP, macros)
• Basic knowledge of statistical analysis (trend analysis, correlation, forecasting) and data cleaning techniques.
• Understanding of leave-of-absence types (sick, parental, medical, unpaid, statutory leave) and relevant labor laws (e.g., FMLA, local statutory leave regulations).
• Knowledge of HR operations (payroll, workforce planning, employee relations) to contextualize LOA data insights.

Responsibilities

• LOA Data Analysis & Trend Identification: Descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analysis on LOA data and trends.
• Reporting & Visualization: Create LOA reports/dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, Excel, or SQL.
• Policy Optimization & Compliance Support: Evaluate LOA policies and support data-driven policy updates.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with payroll and department managers to align LOA data with business goals.
