Job summary

Bechtel is partnering on the Rio Grande LNG project in Brownsville, Texas, to lead the civil work for LNG containment tanks using the Bechtel Integrated Concrete & Steel Solution (BICSS) methodology. The role ensures safety, contract conformance, and adherence to specifications and plans.

The position requires coordinating with tank engineers, suppliers, and customer representatives to meet quality and schedule goals while maintaining compliance with applicable codes, including ACI‑376.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in field civil/structural engineering.
• Experience with LNG tank construction and post-tensioning systems preferred.
• Experience with Bechtel processes and codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead inspections of completed civil works, pre- and post-pour.
• Inspect material deliveries for tank civil works against drawings and specs.
• Coordinate deliveries and clash issues with suppliers and engineers.
• Provide technical input for civil/structural superintendents.
• Plan procedures to ensure safety, quality, and schedule.
• Assist in safety inspections and safety meetings.
• Support cost estimation with civil input.
• Collaborate with disciplines and client reps to meet objectives.
