Job summary

Bechtel is leading engineering efforts for the Rio Grande LNG project in Brownsville, TX. In this role, you will manage a field engineering team, oversee work planning, material management, quantity validation, safety and quality control, and coordinate system turnovers and subcontracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent required; 10–13 years of relevant field experience, or 14–17 years total experience.
• Proven leadership in a team-based environment and construction engineering roles.
• Knowledge of Bechtel Core Processes, ES&H handbook, and subcontractor management.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead engineer for a medium-sized job or Deputy Project Field Engineer coordinating activities.
• Engage in team development via CPM, competency assessment, and feedback.
• Supervise construction engineering work within a discipline and ensure constructability alignment.
• Coordinate with design on constructability and subtract/replace parts when needed.
• Manage material procurement, inclusions of requisitions and substitutions, and equipment.
• Perform quantity take-off, reporting, and forecasting.
• Maintain zero-accident safety philosophy across the team.
• Coordinate field turnover with startup and ensure area readiness.
• Review and approve inspection test plans and subcontractor submittals.
