Job summary
NV5 LNG Engineering in Portsmouth, NH seeks an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to contribute to LNG and natural gas projects nationwide, from design through commissioning. You will work with engineers, designers, clients, and vendors to deliver effective control solutions for LNG and natural gas applications.
The role offers opportunities to develop PLC and HMI software, implement ISA standards, and travel to client sites for deployment and testing throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years in industrial controls engineering with preference for 8+ years.
- Hands-on experience with DCS/PLC/RTU/SCADA; familiarity with Allen Bradley is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for PLC functions and controls equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead selection, procurement, and installation of hardware for industrial automation equipment and instrumentation systems.
- Design control system panels, networks, field junction boxes, and other control system hardware components.
- Develop and implement process control system narratives.
- Assist with Piping and Instrument Diagrams and ISA standards adherence for the process industry.
- Develop PLC programming software and HMI screens for LNG peak-shaving plants; travel to client sites for deployment, debugging, and testing.
- Utilize electrical/test equipment like Fluke meters and HART Communicators to diagnose faults.
