Job summary

New Fortress Energy is seeking an experienced LNG Cargo Scheduler to manage planning, coordination, and execution of LNG cargo movements across a global portfolio. The role serves as the critical link between commercial, operations, marine, terminal, and customer teams to ensure safe, reliable, and profitable deliveries.

Candidates should bring LNG operations or gas scheduling experience in large energy companies, traders, or portfolio players.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Maritime Studies, Engineering, Business, Energy Management, Economics, or related field.
  • 3–10 years of experience in LNG scheduling, marine logistics, vessel operations, gas scheduling, shipping, or energy operations.
  • Understanding of LNG value chain operations including liquefaction, marine transportation, regasification, and terminal operations.
  • Experience coordinating vessel movements and cargo nominations.
  • Knowledge of LNG Sale and Purchase Agreements (SPAs), DES, FOB, and charter party concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cargoes and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end scheduling and execution of LNG cargo movements from loading terminal to delivery destination.
  • Develop and maintain cargo schedules while optimizing vessel utilization and delivery commitments.
  • Liaise daily with LNG terminals, vessel operators, chartering teams, customers, and internal commercial stakeholders.
  • Monitor vessel positions, voyage progress, terminal availability, and operational constraints.
  • Coordinate loading and discharge nominations, cargo confirmations, and schedule changes.
  • Manage schedule disruptions caused by weather, port congestion, vessel delays, operational outages, or market-driven changes.
  • Support optimization of LNG portfolio positions through cargo swaps, diversions, reloads, and scheduling adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, terminal procedures, and marine regulations.
  • Coordinate with gas scheduling teams regarding feedgas availability, inventory management, and cargo readiness.
  • Prepare operational reports, cargo status updates, and management summaries.
  • Maintain accurate records within scheduling, trading, and logistics systems.
  • Participate in after-hours and weekend operational coverage as required by global LNG operations.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced LNG Cargo Scheduler to manage the planning, coordination, and execution of LNG cargo movements across a global portfolio. The successful candidate will serve as the critical link between commercial, operations, marine, terminal, and customer teams to ensure the safe, reliable, and profitable delivery of LNG cargoes.

This role is ideal for candidates with experience in LNG operations, vessel scheduling, marine logistics, gas scheduling, or commercial operations within major energy companies, LNG producers, traders, or portfolio players.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate end-to-end scheduling and execution of LNG cargo movements from loading terminal to delivery destination.

  • Familiarity with scheduling and trading systems such as Allegro, Endur, RightAngle, IMOS, Veson, SAP IS-Oil, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of marine chartering, vessel economics, and freight optimization.
  • Experience supporting international LNG portfolios.
  • Knowledge of natural gas markets and LNG trading operations.
