Job description

Manager, Talent Acquisition at Commonwealth LNG

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, the Director ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the LNG terminal in compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and corporate requirements, while building a high-performance team that delivers sustained excellence in LNG production and export.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee and optimize all aspects of the LNG process, from natural gas intake to LNG loading and shipping.
  • Safety Management: Ensure adherence to strict HSSE safety protocols and policies, including process safety and emergency response procedures. Heavy engagement in the management of programs including safety-critical mechanical interlocks, car seals, trip-override & bypass systems, lock & key management and Management of Change. Provide leadership in Emergency situations as required.
  • Team Leadership: Manage & mentor Operations Manager, Shift Supervisors, process operators, technicians, and other personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure effective performance.
  • Process Optimization: Identify & implement process improvements to maximize efficiency of the Trains, work to reduce costs, and improve overall plant performance. Ensure monthly & annual operating plans, as defined by Operational KPIs are achieved by the team.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and industry standards, maintaining accurate records, and preparing reports as required.
  • Budget Management: Support the development and managing of the operational budget for the LNG plant, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly identify & resolve operational issues, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including management, regulatory agencies, and customers.
  • Maintenance interventions: Manage operational continuity and minimize downtime during periods of planned and unplanned maintenance activities.

Qualifications:

Education, Certificates, and Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline; equivalent 10+ years’ experience in LNG, petrochemical, or midstream gas plant operations with a strong understanding of process control, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced certifications in project management, process safety, or operations management preferred.

Experience:

  • Proven success in team development, implementing training programs, and achieving operational readiness milestones.
  • Experience in operations of SCGTs, and BH LM 9000 aeroderivative turbine-compressors configurations.
  • Strong foundation in process safety, permit-to-work systems, and control room operations within high-hazard industrial environments with a strong understanding of process control, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Creating and leading high-performance teams capable of staying composed under pressure, managing conflict constructively, and making high-quality critical decisions.

  • Expert Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical skills in process control, instrumentation, and automation.

  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • High level of HSE knowledge
  • Ability to address personnel HR issues from a viewpoint of fairness and practicability
  • Demonstrated to be a participative leader that offers opinion and direction
  • Proficiency in Office suite

Work Conditions:

  • The Director, Operations or designee, must be available for stand-by duty on nights, weekends, and after hours as necessary.
  • Must be able to climb stairs & ladders, board vessels, work at heights, lift up to 30 lbs overhead, and work in indoor/outdoor marine environments year-round with exposure to noise, weather, and occasional process gases or vapors.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, color, peripheral, and depth perception with the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must maintain a valid TWIC Card.
