Job summary

The General Hospital Corporation in Dover, NH is seeking a patient care assistant to provide direct support under the supervision of RNs and physicians. You will assist with assessments, med administration, ADLs, and documentation to ensure patient safety and comfort in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include wound care, IV therapy where permitted, and collaboration with the healthcare team. A high school diploma and BLS/LNA credentials are required; relevant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or data conversion and NH LNA licensure as applicable.
• 1-2 years of clinical/medical office/managed care experience preferred, or 0-1 year as Nursing Assistant.
• Knowledge of patient rights, privacy, and confidentiality; ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document patient conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per protocols and safety standards.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding, mobility).
• Coordinate care with RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
