Job summary

University of Florida seeks an LMS and Course Design & Development specialist to design, develop, and maintain online courses using D2L Brightspace and Articulate Rise. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area plus two years of relevant experience.
• Experience with instructional design principles and accessibility standards.
• Experience designing online courses using D2L Brightspace or Articulate Rise.
• Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and SCORM.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain online courses and learning experiences within D2L Brightspace or Articulate Rise.
• Apply instructional design, accessibility, and visual design principles when developing and updating courses and learning experiences.
• Utilize Brightspace/Articulate Rise features, HTML, CSS, and other approved technologies to create and enhance online learning experiences.
• Create, organize, and maintain course content, learning materials, resources, and digital assets.
• Collaborate with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and other project stakeholders to develop and improve courses and learning experiences.
• Conduct quality assurance and accessibility checks to ensure courses meet established standards for content, functionality, navigation, and accessibility.
• Ensure integrated tools/applications and SCORMs perform as intended.
• Take ownership of assigned course development and revision projects, meeting timelines.
• Manage and maintain assigned courses and learning experiences with routine updates and improvements.
• Communicate with team members regarding course development and updates.
• Maintain course documentation, version history, and records for continuity.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback to improve existing courses and learning experiences.
• Assist the Instructional Design team with development of learning materials and course activities.
• Troubleshoot LMS, course, and learning experience issues and escalate complex concerns as needed.
• Respond to internal stakeholder questions related to LMS functionality and courses.
• Document reported issues and resolutions per team processes.
• Participate in user acceptance testing and quality assurance activities for launches and updates.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve issues affecting course quality or functionality.
