Job summary

CHE Behavioral Health Services is seeking Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists (LMFTs) to join our clinician-led, APA-approved team in New York.

You will review referrals, conduct focused therapy sessions, complete assessments, and update treatment plans while collaborating with nurses and providers. A Master’s degree and active LMFT license are required; options include fee-for-service or salaried roles.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Active LMFT license — no associate or limited licenses accepted
• Clinical therapy experience and ability to document sessions accurately

Responsibilities

• Review schedules and referrals at start of day
• Provide brief, focused therapy sessions with residents
• Complete initial assessments and update treatment plans
• Collaborate with nurses, rehab staff, and providers to discuss care needs
• Document sessions, treatment plans, and notes for compliance and billing
• Coordinate with families for follow-ups and scheduling

Requirements

What You’ll Do

• Start by reviewing your schedule, checking for new referrals, and noting any changes in residents’ conditions
• Meet with residents throughout the day for brief, focused therapy sessions (support, coping skills, mood, adjustment)
• Complete initial assessments and update treatment plans for new or ongoing residents
• Collaborate with nurses, rehab staff, and providers to discuss care needs and any behavioral concerns
• Document sessions, treatment plans, and required notes to meet compliance and billing standards
• Connect with family members when needed and plan your schedule and follow-ups for the next day
