Job summary

Break Through Tech is seeking LLM Red Teaming Coaches to guide up to 500 undergraduate fellows in a new 16-week program. You will design live events, provide technical mentorship on LLMs and jailbreaking, and ensure ethical practices, while working remotely with flexible hours.

The role runs January 4, 2027 to May 20, 2027, at ~$35/hour with an average commitment of 15–20 hours per week. This is a part-time, remote position open to candidates across the US.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated aptitude for LLM red teaming.
• Experience using LLMs and prompt engineering techniques.
• Commitment to ethical, responsible red teaming practices.
• Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and facilitate concept reviews and hands-on practice activities for 4 Workshops and 4 Maker Days.
• Review red teaming challenges prior to events to ensure active status and document steps.
• Create and monitor breakout rooms to ensure compliance with program requirements and ethical standards.
• Track attendance and ensure survey completion at the end of each event.
• Review SME-developed course content weekly to stay ahead of fellows’ learning.
• Provide technical mentorship on LLMs, red teaming, and jailbreaking concepts.
• Monitor and respond to fellows’ questions in Discord.
• Reinforce ethics, responsible disclosure, and safety precautions.
• Provide feedback on red teaming attempts via Gray Swan Arena.
• Share timely resources to keep fellows connected to the field.
• Attend weekly Community of Practice meetings with Break Through Tech coaches.
