Mercury is building the future of banking technology. We are seeking a Backend/Full-Stack Engineer to help evolve Command, our LLM-powered financial assistant, and to design, build, and ship new capabilities that customers love.

You will work with experienced product and AI engineers, maintain ownership, and contribute in a fast-paced startup environment focused on quality and user-centric design.

Qualifications

• 1–4 years of backend or full-stack development experience.
• Interest in learning Haskell, React, TypeScript, and Redux.
• Experience building LLM powered products.
• Builder with a product mindset and experience shipping new products.
• Empathizes with users and builds lovable products.
• Balances tradeoffs and finds creative solutions to problems.
• Actively uses AI tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.

Responsibilities

• Ship new capabilities users love.
• Own the product and help design and ship new Command skills.
• Partner with product and compliance teams to define what "working correctly" means and build tests.
• Join a small, experienced team of product and AI engineers building Mercury's future.
• Navigate ambiguity in a scrappy startup environment.
