Job summary

Lear Corporation is seeking an LJIT Application Deployment & Support Specialist to implement and support the LJIT/LearPICS suite across North American plants. The role focuses on deployment, configuration, and ongoing enhancements of manufacturing scheduling software.

You will partner with plant and corporate teams, manage project plans, and train site personnel. This position requires travel up to half the year and a proactive problem-solving mindset for complex systems.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Windows server environments and networking basics.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a member of the Lear JIT System (LJIT/LearPICS) team in the IT Shop Floor organization, you will be responsible for implementing and supporting the LJIT/LearPICS suite of applications for manufacturing plants in North America. LJIT/LearPICS are proprietary, Lear developed Just-In-Time (JIT) systems designed for scheduling the production and shipment of customer orders. You will also focus on innovation and improvements to the LJIT/LearPICS system and deployment processes as we look forward to the next generation of the system to fit with the evolving needs of the business.

Responsibilities

• Implement and support the Lear Just-In-Time system (LJIT) - Lear’s modernized shop floor sequencing software.
• Implement and support the LearPICS system - Lear’s internally developed shop floor sequencing software for customer ordering.
• Coordinate with plant and corporate engineering and logistics teams to understand the build process and utilize that understanding to configure and integrate LJIT/LearPICS
• Develop and manage project plans for implementation projects assigned to you
• Support pre-production testing and debugging of order scheduling with other Lear manufacturing and storage systems.
• Identify necessary enhancements of the system and submit change requests to the LJIT/LearPICS development team
• Train the plant IT and engineering teams in the operation and configuration of the LJIT/LearPICS applications
• Provide troubleshooting support to plants on existing installations throughout the region as an expert of the system
• Interact and communicate effective with all levels of Plant and Corporate personnel
• Build productive relationships with Lear colleagues, and provide knowledge, support, and expertise
• Travel when necessary, up to 50%, to support plant launches

Your Qualfications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
• Motivated, self-starter that can actively listen, learn, and execute without much direction, but can also operate effective as a team member
• Positive attitude with a ability to stay professional and focused under pressure
• Strong problem-solving skills with logical troubleshooting mindset
• Understanding of OpenShift cluster architecture, deployment and navigation
• Strong communication skills (verbal & written), with the ability to simplify and convey technical concepts to non-technical colleagues and management

Bonus If You Have

• Experience in a manufacturing IT environment
• Experience with JIT (Just-In-Time) sequencing systems
• Experience with .net environment
• Experience with log aggregation platforms/tools
• Experience with SQL and running queries against a modern database (PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
• Experience configuring Windows server environments and thin client hardware
• Knowledge of physical and logical networking concepts
